Election Day countdown: 4 days (sign up to volunteer!!)
Hi Friends,
This closing message before Election Day is meant to create a shared expectation about the work ahead, beyond certifying results and completing likely run-off elections.
Winning elections is not enough.
Let’s remember that Jimmy Carter’s presidency led into 12 uninterrupted years of Republican leadership – the longest stretch of single party leadership since World War II. More recently, Barack Obama’s election was closely followed by the Tea Party’s rise. We must acknowledge going into Election Day that the work does not end there, even if we succeed.
If we are going to instill faith in our leaders and renewed pride in our country, our elected officials must deliver on the promises made to address critical issues including racial, environmental, and economic justice. And it is imperative that we support them in that effort.
In the meantime, sign up to volunteer for these consequential, close races over these last days. Let’s have no regrets and keep the drumbeat going. We know the consequences, if we do not.

What we are reading
The GOP post-2020: “In the future, according to Donald Critchlow, a historian of conservatism who teaches at Arizona State University, ‘the advantage would go to a candidate who is Trump without the Trump caricature.’” (The New Yorker)
Let’s have no regrets!
