Election Day countdown: 32 days
Hi Friends,
I cannot believe that when we started this newsletter, we were at the dawn of the pandemic and 222 days out from Election Day. Next week we will be less than a month away. My hope is that this has been equally a weekly source of inspiration, as it has been of information.
Speaking of inspiration
Last night we had the privilege of hosting 12 extraordinary Black candidates for the U.S. House – 6 incumbents and 6 challengers – who are running in the most competitive races. We had to roll with the punches, as the 6 incumbents joined intermittently in between floor votes for the Heroes Act, but it paid off – literally.
We started the event with over $156K raised and were blown away by your generosity when we ended with over $215K.
The average age of our organizers was <32, attendees gave between $1 and the maximum contribution, and they came from over 293 zip codes in over 195 communities, all within 32 states and territories. Together, we helped build a more representative House.

What we are reading
Is a Biden blowout coming?: “Maybe there’s another explanation for [Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin’s] surging support among women who would traditionally vote Republican. Lots of those voters are still anti-abortion, but they have reached a point where their fidelity to that issue is outweighed by their disgust with Donald Trump.” (Politico)
In partnership and with gratitude,
Zak
