Election Day countdown: 110 days
Hi Friends,
Our community continues to grow. We have all raised well over $400K, since COVID19 forced us on Zoom, in support of everything from state legislature races to Joe Biden. Thank you for your contribution and others you are making, to help us win in November. Let’s make sure that we continue to give it our all, so we have no regrets on November 4th!
This week, we focus on the U.S. Senate.
Learn and Act
We likely need to flip four seats, in order for the U.S. Senate to go blue.
That is why we are working with friends to organize a national gathering on August 11th at 8pm ET with 10 candidates best positioned to do that.
It is the first time all 10 candidates will be on one event together! Want to co-host this event? Reply to this email and we will set you up.

Candidate of the Week
About the candidate: At 16, Theresa Greenfield began working with the family crop-dusting business. As Theresa and her first husband were expecting their second child, he was killed in an accident at his job as a union electrical worker. Theresa’s family was able to stay out of poverty and get back on their feet with the help of Social Security survivor benefits. She later worked as an urban planner, in real estate and development in Iowa. Theresa lives in Des Moines with her husband Steve who she shares four grown children with.

About this contested election: Recent polls have Theresa beating the incumbent Republican, but it is close. This cycle, we can help her flip a U.S. Senate seat, flip a U.S. House seat and preserve the others to create an all-Democrat Iowa U.S. House delegation, as well as flip the state house blue, and the whole state blue for Biden.
What we are reading
Michigan Democrat sounds alarm: “Whether [Congresswoman Elissa] Slotkin can have it both ways, speaking her mind about the president and winning over some of his supporters, may well determine not only her fate but the fate of Democrats in swing districts and battleground states across the country.” (Politico)
Masks from the 1918 pandemic: A photo collage in The Atlantic.
The image of baseball players wearing masks was most striking to me, as baseball prepares to begin play this weekend.
Anti-Semitism has no place in liberation: “As part of a family who lost people in the Holocaust, anytime I see anti-Semitism I’m deeply distressed. But I also know who my enemies are, and it isn’t the Black people who seem to always be singled out for anti-Semitism.” (The Nation)
In solidarity,
Zak
