Election Day countdown: 60 days – to win the Senate
Hi Friends,
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won. Trump was rejected. You made sacrifices, you did the work, and we will have a new President!
The organizers, campaign staffers, poll workers, and down ballot candidates – they made this possible. Let us not forget that.
I will share more, in terms of analysis, as the dust settles. In the meantime, there is even more hope:
We can still win the Senate!!
Senate candidates Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff will enter a run-off election because no candidate in their respective races met the requisite 50 percent threshold. If both win in a state that Joe Biden is positioned to take, we would have a 50-50 tie in the Senate and give VP Kamala Harris the tie-breaking vote.
History in the making:
Rev. Warnock would be the 11th Black Senator in U.S. history and the first Black Democrat ever elected to the Senate from the South.
Jon Ossoff would, at 33-years-old, be the youngest Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate since…Joe Biden was elected in 1970 at 30-years-old.
Think about how much you would contribute to help make history and flip the Senate blue. Got it? Good!
These are Georgia-based groups that local organizers are encouraging us to contribute to. Together, they will build the political power to elect Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to the U.S. Senate on January 5th.
If you want to support the candidates directly, you can do so here. And come hear directly from them on Monday at 7:30pm ET.
We have got this! There is much to be proud of. And, still, so much to work for.
Onward,
Zak
